"SCHAUINSLAND" means "view into the land", and thus
is fairly appropriate, as this is the highest point in the area.

A cable-car takes you to the top, where you can enjoy magnificent
views from the cafe, and of course any number of different walks.

For many years silver, lead and zinc were mined here, and you
can also visit the museum dedicated to the history of this activity.

There are also a number of ski-slopes
on and around the mountain.

If you prefer not to take the cable-car, a mountain road
with stupendous views winds its way over 11km to the top.
