The Noflaye Tortoise Village

some 35 km from Dakar

This is a conservation centre and a charming home to tortoises at all stages of their development. These are the most inoffensive and beautiful creatures imaginable, but don't come here expecting lots of action!

The "village" is beautifully laid out with lots of explanatory signs. Mamadou and "The President" took me there early on in my stay, and a very pleasant outing it was.
