Der Bodensee (Lake Constance)

On October 22, 2013, I picked up Mike Bysh & Peter Brown from BMF Airport (Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg - also known as Euroairport) and we drove to Konstanz. We had a look round the city and then took the ferry to Meersburg, an archictectural gem on the other side of the lake.

After a very pleasant Kaffee und Kuchen on the castle terrace we then made our way to Lindau at the eastern end of the Bodensee, where we overnighted on the island.

Lindau is a "must-see" place, and we had a stroll around the island and harbour before setting off for the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen, from where we left after lunch for Freiburg.

This whole area is stunning, as I hope will be clear from the photos. Indeed, there is much more to see further east in Füssen and of course at Schwangau for Schloß Neuschwanstein, but that is for another day.
