The “Bone Yard” in Tucson, Arizona, USA

This is the aircraft storage facility for the U.S.A.F. Without seeing these photos, it is difficult to comprehend the number of planes stored here, each one with a multi-million dollar price tag! Of course, the important thing to remember is that they are all capable of being returned to service if the need ever arises.

Both the museum and the bone yard are very popular attractions in the Arizona desert. If you are ever in the Tucson area, the weekly tours of the bone yard are still given through the Tucson Air Museum.

The U.S.A. has more planes in combat readiness storage than most developed countries have in their total operational arsenal.
