Anne: "My apology was an unmitigated success. Mrs Lynde was very impressed."
Matthew: "It's not Mrs Lynde that you need to worry about."
Anne: "Miss Cuthbert seemed pleased, too."
Matthew: "Now you're talking."
The language is beautiful. One would normally expect "a great success ", but instead Moira gives us "unmitigated"
..... not the usual collocation, but in Anne's mouth it is just perfect.
